Banana pumpkin flax oat walnut cranberry muffins!

Oh my me, I should have been in bed half an hour ago, but I was baking muffins for work tomorrow.

Lawdy lawdy I feel old and adult-like. Goodnight, tumblr! This chickadee is getting up before the sun again tomorrow!

During my long drive home I constructed a nice little article about political correctness and fat talk and things like that, and it was pretty cool, but of course by the time I got home I couldn’t get my thoughts organized on paper.

Perhaps tomorrow. This here tumblr could use a little more thoughtful original content now and then.

So I've realized

it rubs me the wrong way a bit when people involved in/working in theatre spew theatre jargon in everyday conversation among non-theatre-related people. Like “Oh, I’m such a techie!” or jokes about IM. It doesn’t bother me if everyone present is in theatre because yeah, that’s how we talk, and we also have the tendency to talk shop (el oh el) a lot. I do it too. But around other people, or in Facebook statuses, that kind of thing… I don’t know. I reminds me somehow of twelve-year-olds on the Internet trying to be KEWL and DiFfErEnT.

I know that’s not how people mean it 98% of the time, and of course they can say whatever they want, whenever they want. I’m not trying to police anyone’s conversation. I just had a moment of self-revelation or something.

That said, oh my gosh I miss talking shop with people.

Also, I say this with the full disclosure that I’ve probably done the thing I’m complaining about. Augh.

SEASON FIVE OF SCRUBS, DON'T YOU MAKE ME CRY.

SUPERMAN CRASHED INTO A BUILDING AND EXPLODED IN A GIANT FIREBALL AND EVERYTHING IS WRONG FOREVER. OW OW OW MY HEART.

I have been told on good authority that the show isn’t much worth watching after season 7 (or does the total shark-jumping start with 7? I don’t remember), and that makes me so disappointed. The show has tons of flaws, but it really does tug at my heartstrings so well. I CAN’T HELP IT, I AM A SENSITIVE AND SENTIMENTAL BEING.
